The White Rose Classic, run by Ilkley Cycling Club since 2012 is considered Yorkshire's Premier Sportive and to some past participants, the Epic route is probable the hardest in Yorkshire

For 2027, we are continuing with 4 routes ranging from 35 miles to 125 miles which will take you in to the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The 4 routes support the clubs ethos to make the event attractive to all levels of sportive rider where you can pick the route that suits your level of riding or for those looking for their next challenge, the White Rose Classic offers this variation. All the routes will weave you around the Yorkshire dales allowing you take in the amazing scenery whilst navigating the various lumps, bumps and the odd climb or two. The Yorkshire Dales is considered the UKs' cycling Mecca to many, so when you ride our routes you will gain an insight to why the 2014 Tour de France, Tour de Yorkshire and the UCI world championships in 2019 came to Yorkshire.

Once finished you can relax in the post ride village with your fellow riders, enjoy a drink and some food, friends and family are more than welcome to join you.

Organised and run entirely by volunteers from Ilkley Cycling Club and their friends & family. The event is a ‘Not for Profit’ sportive and any profits are re-invested in to the event and promoting grassroots cycling initiatives, local charities and supporting our own youth development programme, along with encouraging more men and women to ride bikes as per the club motto "From Recreation to Racing.”
